Academic Advising

Welcome to Academic Advising at California Indian Nations College (CINC)! Our advising team is here to support you in achieving your academic, personal, and professional goals throughout your journey at CINC. We believe that advising goes beyond course selection – it’s about building a path that aligns with your goals, values, and cultural identity. Our advisors are dedicated to helping you navigate college life, make informed decisions, and connect with the resources and opportunities that will enrich your experience.

How We Support You

Our advisors are dedicated to creating a supportive environment where students feel heard and valued. We are here to help with:

Planning Your Academic Pathway: We assist with course selection, exploring degree options, and making sure you’re on track to meet graduation requirements, including IGETC or CSU GE requirements if you’re considering transfer.

Navigating Challenges: Whether it’s balancing responsibilities or overcoming academic hurdles, we provide resources and strategies to help you succeed.

Connecting to Resources: From tutoring to internships and cultural events, we’ll help connect you to resources that enhance your college experience.

Career and Transfer Guidance: If you’re thinking about what comes after CINC, we’ll work with you to develop a plan for transfer, career opportunities, or further education.

Personalized Support with a Cultural Foundation: At CINC, we recognize that each student’s journey is unique. Our advising approach integrates a cultural perspective, ensuring that your academic plan reflects your values, goals, and aspirations as a Native student. We’re committed to fostering a space where you can excel academically and embrace your identity. We’re here to help you succeed and to celebrate each step of your progress.

We encourage you to schedule a meeting with an advisor to discuss your academic path and any questions you may have. We’re excited to work with you to build a fulfilling, successful, and meaningful college experience.
