CANDIDATES FOR ELECTION

President: Erica Munoz
My name is Erica Munoz, and I’m incredibly proud to be a candidate for Student Government President at California Indian Nations College. As a lineal descendant of the Cahuilla Tribe, my heart is deeply rooted in the values of community, respect, and the shared wisdom of our ancestors. These values inspire me every day to work toward building a campus that reflects who we are—diverse, vibrant, and united.I’m currently in my second year as a Business and Technology major, and through my time here, I’ve seen firsthand the unique challenges we face as Native American students and as individuals. As a student employee working in the main office in Palm Desert for Student Affairs, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many of you and learning what truly matters to our community. This experience has strengthened my commitment to making sure that all students feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. My number one goal as President is to ensure that every student—whether you’re returning or new—feels a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to be involved. I am dedicated to increasing student participation and creating spaces where everyone can share their voices, contribute to our campus community, and feel heard. One of my biggest passions is student outreach, and I am determined to bridge the gap for those of us transitioning from high school to CINC. It’s crucial that we support one another through these transitions, especially as we embark on this important journey together. Looking ahead, I’m excited about my future and my plans to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a degree in Accounting. But no matter where I go, my commitment to empowering students and supporting the CINC community will remain at the heart of everything I do. Let’s work together to make our college experience one where everyone feels seen, heard, and appreciated. Thank you for your trust, your support, and the opportunity to lead.
